I like this song because it makes you think. I hear all of those stories in the lyrics as they are described by each story. This song has a meaning to all that listen to it. If I knew that some guy got away with the murder of their child because their kids death was considered a suicide, I'd be crying to! Crying out loud at the top of my lungs! "Why did you send your own son to die? He did everything for you! His self-sacrifice was for you, yet you judge him and not yourself?" The irony would be that the child did everything they could just to make the father happy, yet regardless how hard they try to please the father, they are forsaken. Craig from UsaMaybe a child with a good heart was brutally murdered by an abusive father, but the father got away with it because the death of the child was considered a suicide.So thanks you systems of the down for this gem. An over all even reading more about at an older age I understand even more so why I’ve loved this song all these years. All in all this song helped me feel seen. It’s like describing how I would kill myself on the inside to please others and I’d cry to god asking him to save me.
Muvadragon from Somewhere On EarthI’ve always felt like I could relate to this song growing up.Not Serj Tankian from WarrenI don't know about you guys, but I think it's funny how apparently this song is touching on drug addiction, yet the next song on the album, "Bounce", literally is about doing drugs and talks about it in a somewhat "positive" way.It could be Family and definitely Friends. People leave you by the wayside like a piece of trash.
They could have been a Great person with good intentions, but one way or another things happen. Which is terrible in my opinion, some people didn't have the Best Life because no one stepped in to stop them from the way they were living or the things they were doing. Luke 23:46 & Isaiah 49:14 Daron and Serj are right, People do indeed Judge you even After Death depending on the way someone passed.
